For years, slow internet has been something we just put up with — buffering, laggy uploads, dropped Zoom calls. Annoying, sure, but manageable.

That’s changed.

Today, reliable internet isn’t a convenience anymore. It’s core infrastructure, just like roads, electricity, and water.

So what happens if Hawarden doesn’t get fiber?

It’s bigger than a frozen screen during movie night or buffering in the middle of a Hawkeye (or Cyclones) game. The real impact shows up in how our community grows — or doesn’t.

When businesses decide where to open, expand, or invest, fast, reliable broadband is often one of the first things they look for. Communities with fiber stand out. Communities without it often get passed over.

Without fiber internet, Hawarden risks:

Fiber internet isn’t just about faster speeds at home. It helps support a strong local economy by attracting businesses, keeping jobs close to home, and giving Hawarden the tools it needs to grow.

🔔 Updated Deadline Reminder 🔔

The deadline for paid fiber sign-ups has been extended to March 31. When a route reaches 50% in paid sign-ups, fiber becomes a reality. If it doesn’t, every deposit is refunded in April.

The door’s still open. Now it’s about neighbors showing up and helping Hawarden move forward to save on rising costs and future headaches. Don’t let this opportunity slip away!

Keep an eye on our current standings for up-to-date progress with paid sign-ups!
